Though his series of Zulu War prints won international recognition in the late 1980s, Bud Bradshaw has returned his focus to an emphasis on his first passion, the American West. An art major in his early college years, Bradshaw further honed his skills through study at the renowned Scottsdale Artists' School with Howard Terpning, Robert Abbett, Howard Rogers, Burne Hogarth, and others. He has won several prestigious awards, including the 1989 C.G. Rein Award, the 1991 Dan May scholarship in Scottsdale's "Best and Brightest" show, and "Best of Show" awards at the 2002 and 2006 Norco Western Art exhibits. A member of the Oil Painters of America, he won an Award of Excellence at the OPA's 2003 Annual Juried Exhibit. Bradshaw's work appears in private collections and museums in the U.S., Canada, England, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Rome, Hong Kong, and South Africa. Several of his images have been issued as limited edition prints and appeared as magazine covers.
